Within each content area, identifies the key development indicators (KDIs)-observable milestones that occur during behaviors and activities children readily engage in. The KDIs provide flexible system for organizing content that helps teachers understand and plan for each child's individual development. The learning areas are guided by the fifty-eight developmental indicators that meet all the state standards.
