Provisions in Special Needs with Active Learning
Active Learning provides inclusive experiences for children with and without disabilities. All Children benefit when they participate in their own learning process. Children become engaged in their learning. Children with special needs learn from interacting with other children. They learn from opportunities to make and talk about plans and choices. The research has told us that children with disabilities demonstrate higher levels of engagement which leads to improve behavioral interactions. In the Highscope environment, teachers support can be individualized and based on each child's abilities. This environment can provide access, participation, and support for the special needs children. The daily routines help the students understand what comes next. With special needs, they have difficulty maintaining focus, and this helps them relax. Teachers can offer picture representation of the activities to help the hearing impaired children and the visual impaired children. Using sign language in the classroom can be beneficial to not just the special needs but to all children.
